The origins of the golden pheasant
The golden pheasant originates from China, where it still lives in the wild. It was introduced to Europe in the 18th century and is now one of the most represented pheasant species in captivity. The climate of its native environments, both hot and cold, allows for easy rearing of this pheasant. It adapts very well to all types of climates. Its Chinese nickname, Ken-ky, translates to "golden chicken" in English. A fitting moniker for this bird with golden feathers.
Description of the golden pheasant
The golden pheasant has an elegant silhouette and a proud appearance; its very long tail extends its body to about 43 inches. It can weigh up to 1.5 pounds, making it a beautiful bird! It has a long, sloping back leading to its tail. Its plumage in red, yellow, golden, orange, black, blue, and green ends with a black and golden tail of superb length: 27.5 to 31.5 inches of beauty.
